Overview
Breast cancer is a type of cancer that starts in the breast. Cancer starts when cells begin to grow out of control. (To learn more about how cancers start and spread.
Warning
The warning signs of breast cancer are not the same for all women. The most common signs are: A change in the look or feel of the breast OR A change in the look or feel of the nipple OR Nipple discharge.
Advice
I had first noticed the dip a few weeks earlier. It was no bigger than the tip of my finger, but at the time I was more worried about a mole on my back. I’m so glad I got my dip checked out by my doctor.
Breast Cancer Symptoms
If you find a lump or other change in your breast — even if a recent mammogram was normal — make an appointment with your doctor for prompt evaluation.
Common signs and symptoms of the flu include:-
- -A breast lump or thickening that feels different from the surrounding tissue
- -Change in the size, shape or appearance of a breast
- -Changes to the skin over the breast, such as dimpling
- -A newly inverted nipple
- -Peeling, scaling, crusting or flaking of the pigmented area of skin surrounding the nipple (areola) or breast skin
- -Redness or pitting of the skin over your breast, like the skin of an orange
Causes-breast cancer disease
After puberty, a woman’s breast consists of fat, connective tissue, and thousands of lobules. These are tiny glands that produce milk for breastfeeding. Tiny tubes, or ducts, carry the milk toward the nipple.
Cancer causes the cells to multiply uncontrollably. They do not die at the usual point in their life cycle. This excessive cell growth causes cancer because the tumor uses nutrients and energy and deprives the cells around it.
Breast cancer usually starts in the inner lining of milk ducts or the lobules that supply them with milk. From there, it can spread to other parts of the body.
